About Rohnert Park

Rohnert Park is a planned suburban city laid out in alphabetical neighborhood loops, each with its own park. It sits along Highway 101 between Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Sonoma State University is at its eastern edge, which gives the city a younger, more academic flavor than some of its neighbors.

The neighborhood sections

Rohnert Park's original plan grouped homes into named sections (the A-section, B-section, and so on, each with streets starting with the same letter). Each section has its own park and feel, which makes finding the right corner of the city a fun puzzle.

Sonoma State University and the Green Music Center

Sonoma State sits at the eastern edge of the city. The Green Music Center, the university's performing arts venue, brings concerts and events that draw audiences from across the region.

Highway 101 access

The city's location on 101 makes it one of the easier Sonoma County addresses for commuters heading north or south. Specific commute times vary by time of day, so test the route at your peak commute hour.

Schools
