About Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa sits at the heart of Sonoma County. It's the largest city in the area and serves as the regional hub for shopping, dining, and services. The downtown wraps around the recently reunified Old Courthouse Square, with Railroad Square's historic district just a short walk away. Vineyards begin at the city's edge in nearly every direction.

The reunified plaza in the heart of downtown is a regular gathering place for farmers' markets, holiday events, and weekend afternoons. Railroad Square, just to the west, holds historic stone buildings that now house restaurants, antique shops, and small bars.

Wine country at your doorstep

Russian River Valley, Bennett Valley, and Sonoma Valley vineyards all sit within a short drive. You can reach a tasting room within fifteen minutes from many neighborhoods.

Distinct neighborhoods

Santa Rosa is really a collection of neighborhoods, each with its own feel. Rincon Valley on the east side (where I grew up), Bennett Valley to the south, Fountaingrove on the hills, and the older Junior College and JC Square areas all have their own character.

Santa Rosa is served by several school districts depending on where the home is located, including Santa Rosa City Schools, Rincon Valley Union School District, Bennett Valley Union School District, and Mark West Union School District. School assignments depend on the property's address and current district boundaries, both of which can change. Always verify with the relevant district before making any decision based on schools.
