Windsor

A small-town feel just north of Santa Rosa, anchored by the iconic Town Green.

What follows is my personal impression of Windsor, blended with general facts about the area. Some of it is opinion. The only way to know if a place is right for you is to spend time in it. Please verify any specific detail (commute time, school assignment, amenity) directly with the appropriate source.

About Windsor

Windsor sits between Santa Rosa and Healdsburg in the Russian River Valley. It has a tighter, more small-town pace than its larger neighbors. The Town Green is the heart of the community, hosting summer concerts, farmers' markets, and weekend gatherings. Vineyards surround the town in nearly every direction.

The Town Green

Four-plus acres of grass, a fountain, and a bandstand sit at the center of Windsor. In summer there are free concerts most weekends. It's the kind of public space that gives a town an identity.

Russian River Valley wineries

Windsor is in the heart of the Russian River Valley AVA, with dozens of wineries on its outskirts. Many have tasting rooms open most days of the week.

Easy access to wine country and 101

Windsor sits right on Highway 101, which means a quick connection south to Santa Rosa or north to Healdsburg, and easy access to the wine country roads in between.

Schools

The Windsor Unified School District serves most of Windsor. As always, school assignments depend on the property's address and current boundaries, which can change. Confirm directly with the district before making any decision based on schools.
